BRANDING | WEB DESIGN | MERCH DESIGN
The Global Sport Lab is a lab on the University of Washington Seattle and Bothell campuses that aims to take an academic lens to sport. Specifically, the lab is interested in the intersection of sports, politics, and diplomacy, especially in anticipation of the World Cup coming to Seattle (and North America in general).

Creating the Global Sport Lab
I was approached by professor Ron Krabill, of the University of Washington Jackson School of International Studies, to aid him and his team in creating design assets for the Global Sport Lab and its related projects. Since, I have developed several logos for the brand, and have recently finished producing the website World Cup: The Syllabus.
World Cup: The Syllabus
Created in anticipation of the World Cup coming to North America, World Cup: The Syllabus serves as a resource for academics and people interested in the political and social repercussions of this incredibly consequential global event. I had the pleasure of working with academics around the country to develop this project.
Introducing the Syllabus
I was tasked with translating a very large Google Doc into a beautiful, accessible, interactive artifact for anyone interested in learning more about the history and politics of the World Cup. My constraints included the UW brand system and public domain imagery—I am very proud of how this project adapted under them!
Articles
Much of the content curated for World Cup: The Syllabus were huge blocks of links and writing. I led the team to break up the content with curated imagery and structured the website systematically.
Editorial Team
The greatest beauty of working with a team of football scholars was mediating very strong opinions on what image could represent the group as a whole—so we are very happy to have the South African National Women's Team represent the group! It was incredible to learn from this passionate team!
Takeaways and Next Steps
World Cup: The Syllabus is currently an evolving document, so I am excited to see where else it goes and what parts of the world it will reach!
For my work with the Global Sport Lab, we are currently in the process of designing a soccer scarf for the Lab (currently in production). We are also hoping to redesign the lab's website in the future… stay tuned!
